Keeping Motivated: June - Weightloss & Fitness

Update!

June has come around quicker than ever and it's time for another weight loss update. It's been generally a pretty good month and I have felt fairly on plan most the time. If you follow me on Instagram you will have probably noticed that we are a little burger obsessed in our household and also have a bit of a thing for blueberries and sweetcorn, literally can not get enough. I am not quite in my gold hot pants yet but I can get them over my ankles, hoorah!

The May Goals

  • Take snacks for work
  • Lose 1lb a week
  • Prepare lunches in advance
It turned out I didnt need snacks for work, I don't qualify for a break which is probably a blessing and I just really want to get home as quick as possible so that goal was pretty easy! My lunch prep wasn't great but I have been thinking more about what I will be eating at least and making sure I have things in the day before, so in a sense I suppose it is preperation just more of the mental and shopping kind! In total for May I lost 3lbs (thats 24 sausages!) so I didn't quite make my pound a week which is really disapointing! Up until this last few days I had lost 5.5lbs for May, but new medication and passing out at a blood test last week meant I had a few days bulking up on carby sugary foods, just to make me feel better. This reflected on the scales and gave me 2.5 lbs back. It turns out I have been running on empty with my Vitamin D, which was causing me really bad pain in my bones and a super low mood, I had no idea Vitamin D deficiency could make you feel so ill but I am so happy it was nothing more and Papa John was there to cheer me up last week so my gain did not come as a surprise!

Highlight

When I visited the doctors I was weighed for my records and they told me I was 3.5 stone (49 lbs) lighter than when they weighed me last August, two weeks after the birth of my daughter. I was so pleased with this as I had no idea how much I was to start with!

I worked out that if I lost a pound a week up until Christmas I would be around 30 pounds lighter so that is my new long term goal.

Nsv's

My non scale victories for this month were less health based than previously, as I have felt rotten most the time, but more about feeling more myself and looking a little bit more 'me'. I have been able to buy clothes that I would normally shy away from, as well as a leather jacket which is something I would have felt far too butch in before, but I love it! I also managed to get on and button up a pair of jeans a lady at Weight Watchers gave me a few weeks in and that I couldn't get past my knees! A victory for sure. Next step is for them not to cut off my blood supply when buttoned up, always a good thing.

June Goals

  • Lose a pound a week (four weigh ins = 4lbs)
  • Write down my meal plans the night before
  • Look for cheap healthy NEW recipes and ideas
