My Sunday Photo #14

Elephant Hawkmoth!

This weekend we discovered a new set of woods/nature reserve. It was so quiet we only saw one other person the whole time we were there, I have no idea  why - it was beautiful! We came across this little, (well actually huge) 'Elephant Hawkmoth' which my husband and son were quite happy to have sat on them. Apparently these live between May and July so we were lucky to spot one! I definitely wouldn't want to see this guy on a dark night! I love the colours of his fur coat. A was totally fascinated by Monty the 'mothster'.

We found a huge pond with loads of wildlife and creepy crawlies to look at, so next time we are taking our net and crabbing bucket to see what exciting things we can find! I love this time of year and being able to be outdoors so much.

    1. These colours were amazing, the prettiest moth I've seen. I must admit I am not too keen on them flapping around but find them fascinating to look at!
