Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside...

I don't know what it is I love so much about it, but I'm a huge fan of the seaside and I can't wait to live near to the sea one day. I love the nostalgic feel of the British coast and it just feels so relaxing looking out into open nothingness. The seaside anywhere just makes me feel totally at peace. I'm completely relaxed and unwound when I can hear waves crashing nearby. I even love the sea when it's stormy, as long as I am cosied up inside somewhere watching it in the warm and not stuck out on a boat somewhere!

The beautiful views of the sea on our Welsh adventure in April - pure heaven!
Until I get my real seaside dream, I will continue to fill my home with seaside items and colours like blues and creams, as well as nautical stripes and anchors - my absolute favourites. One day in the future I would love to see the sea from my bedroom window, that's the big dream and in the short term, I'd just like to be able to walk to the beach, or have a short car or bus journey to get there. This is something we are looking into at the moment. Where we live now, the main coast itself isn't that great or picturesque and to get there means driving on one long road with everyone else that decides to go. If you get a nice day you can queue for hours so we don't tend to bother any more and I miss it. I will be making the most of every seaside minute on our Devonshire holiday.

Rockpooling and beach combing are my favourite things in the world. I've always been obsessed with making things and looking for treasure (something I waffle about lots - sorry). I have shells that we have found on the beach, as well as pebbles my son has picked up for me on our early beach walks.
The seaside has such special memories for me and I am now making more with my own children that I hope will pass on the love of the sea! My favourite beach so far has to be St. Ives, it's the most beautiful place with a perfect turquoise sea, light sand and lots of little quirky houses and shops. Another favourite is a little place called Donna Nook in Lincolnshire. Each year thousands of seals make their way to the beaches at (and nearby) Donna Nook to have their pups, it really is the most stunning thing I have ever seen!

I really do love to be beside the seaside!
