Love Is All Around: Valentines At HomeSense

As with all the big events and seasons, I was really excited to see what HomeSense would have to offer for Valentines Day this year. When I was asked to pop in and have a browse this weekend, I wasn't disappointed.

If you want the more traditional chocolate and flower gifts, you can find a brilliant selection in store, but I loved seeing all the other more subtle, and ever so slightly more useful gifts in store as well; love was definitely all around me as I wandered around (cue cheesy music...). I thought I would share my favourite finds and maybe give you some ideas for your Valentine this year.

I loved this mirrored box, it would be perfect to keep jewellery and precious things in, if you were feeling really generous you could even pop some jewellery inside. The beautiful butterfly and heart pattern mean it would be great for Valentines day. I also loved these little 'key to my heart' boxes which would be lovely for couples that have just moved in together, as maybe a more thoughtful and alternative gift. They are really cute and cheap too!

I noticed in store that they had some really nice gift boxes, wrap, cards and bags, so your gifts can be beautiful inside and out. I loved this 'XOXO' bag. I always think a nice gift bag makes it all the more exciting to open too and never really appreciated what a lovely selection HomeSense have.

Instead of the usual 'off the shelf' supermarket boxes of chocolates, HomeSense have a really interesting selection of vintage looking treats like this giant chocolate bar, as well as sweet jars for us grown ups - full of glorious goodies! Who wouldn't want to receive these?

For something a little longer lasting than chocolate, but still ideal for your Valentine, what about some heart themed kitchen ware, like these chopping boards, or lidded jars with matching bowls. There were so many heart items in store, so plenty to choose from if this is more your bag.

Now back to the treats... I was really surprised to see such an unusual selection of tasty treats and my favourite of all were the sweet bouquets from the Sweet People. Sweets and flowers in one go, win win!

If you want something a little different, then I can safely say that there is a much more interesting selection in HomeSense than most the other places I have seen. There is a hint of the traditional with red roses and heart shaped boxes of chocolates, but so much more besides to make someone feel truly special. If Valentine's isn't exactly your cup of tea, then just buy yourself something instead, there are far too many treasures in store at the moment, never a dull day at HomeSense!

I hope you enjoy Valentine's Day on the 14th!
