Photography >> Brushing Up & Learning New Skills

Snap happy...

One of the things I love to have taken from my blog so far, is reigniting my love for photography. I did photography at college, I've always been obsessed with taking photos and think they make the best memories. I've never been able to afford a proper DSLR camera though, so I was delighted last year when I was given one as a birthday treat and suddenly realised what a HUGE difference even an entry level DSLR can make to your images. I even have a gorgeous new tote bag style camera bag so I'm well and truly in my element on days out now.

I have to admit I'm guilty of using the auto setting more often that I should, so I am currently taking part in a photography course that should get me up to scratch on all those basic settings and improve my photos no end. I love editing pictures but it would be amazing to just have the perfect shots taken with actual skill instead of with adjustments.

As I'm launching a shop through my blog later this year, I hope to eventually sell photographic prints as well as drawings and other items, so I really need to improve my skills and brush up on those things I learnt back in college a whopping 16 years ago - it's no wonder it's all been long forgotten!

Another reason for wanting to improve is that I just want awesome family pictures to have in the house and to treasure forever, as well as the fact that Alf is now loving photography too, so I'd love to have the skills to be able to teach him properly as soon as he is old enough.

If you want to keep up to date with my photography journey, you can check out my Instagram and also keep an eye on my blog where a lot of my photos end up. Do you have any good tips for an amateur photographer like me? If so, please do leave me a comment below.
