Guest Post || Healthy Food Swap Ideas

With so many people hitting the new year hard with a new health kick, we need all the help we can get. Check out this guest post and infographic from the folks over Clearspring, for a few fresh ideas.

Start your New Years Resolution right by swapping any unhealthy snacks for something that’s good for you.

Start your day off with Matcha tea from Clearspring rather than your normal brew. Matcha tea is a longstanding tradition in Japanese culture with many health benefits. The first of them is that it is high in antioxidants, which helps fight the negative effects of UV radiation, giving us healthier and younger looking skin. It also enhances the production of dopamine and serotonin putting you in a better mood and improving your memory.
Matcha tea also naturally has caffeine in it so it’ll give you an energy boost at the start of the day, like your normal tea or coffee would. It is also a lot cheaper than your usual Starbucks or Costa Coffee on the way to work. A 40g bag of premium grade Matcha tea will cost about £10 and will fill up 30-40 cups!

You should also swap biscuits and sweets for nuts. Nuts contain unsaturated fatty acids and many other nutrients. They are inexpensive and easy to store. Similarly to sweets, you can keep them on your desk at work and snack on them throughout the day. Nuts are also good for you heart as they lower your cholesterol levels and lower the risk of developing in blood clots which can cause fatal heart attacks. There are over 20 types of nuts you can get in supermarkets so you’ll definitely find one you like. You can also get them in mixed bags if you like a few different types or, get them roasted in your favourite flavour.
