#RockingMotherhood >> The Best Way I can

This Mama...

Every now and then a tag post will come around in the blogger community that grabs my attention. This one 'Rocking Motherhood' did just that because I know as well as most that we are far too critical of our role as Mothers (and probably a lot of Dads out there too), so taking part in something that stops us and makes us take a look at our strengths is a great thing.

I really struggle to see the positives at times and anything that pulls me together and slaps those happy moments in my face are more than welcome! I'm sure most the things I will mention apply to most mothers but it is important for me to remind myself sometimes, and I'm in no way suggesting we aren't all rocking motherhood!

The #RockingMotherhood tag originated from Patricia at White Camellias and found it's way to me via Chloe from The Adventures of an allergy mummy and Sarah from Whimsical Mumblings. Here are 10 reasons why I am -

#RockingMotherhood.

  1. I try and make their childhood magical. With things like Christmas I go all out, I want them to have the happiest of memories and feel the true magic and innocence of childhood.
  2. We have fun. I love being silly, playing, dancing, laughing with the kids and we have a lot of fun together.
  3. I work really bloody hard while the kids are asleep to make some money and work towards their future.
  4. I think I am the kids happy place, the one squishy place they can truly relax and feel safe.
  5. I would literally do anything to make sure the kids are healthy and happy.
  6. The kids are growing into funny lovely people, we have done well.
  7. Both kids are bright, happy and confident which I put down to our parenting. I am fully allowed to feel smug on this one as I felt so much guilt for not being able to afford nursery while everyone told me it would affect their confidence and learning!
  8. They know how much I love them and I tell them a million times a day, it never loses meaning when said or returned and I hope they always know that I love them more than anything.
  9. They are self confident. I am always telling the kids how amazing they are, how clever, handsome and beautiful they are. I make sure they know their kindness and love doesn't go unnoticed and up to now they are both happy and confident with themselves and I hope outside sources don't ever change that.
  10. I have two happy babies. Above all else, the kids are happy, they are open and honest with us, curious of the world around them, excited for life and love being in our little family - that is the best thing of all.

Being a parent can be the toughest and most rewarding job, it's not without it's battles and struggles but the good times far outweigh the bad. Although it is so easy to over look the positives at times, the sheer basics of life such as happiness are all that matters and this shines brightly from our children. We should all be proud of ourselves, we are all good parents and it just isn't said enough.

I'd like to tag a few bloggers to take part - Sian, Katy and Jaki if you'd like to take part, just list your ten reasons and tag a few bloggers on your post too.
