Mama Style || Christmas Party & Quiz Clothing

Before we had kids, I loved getting dressed up, especially at this time of year with Christmas parties and dressing up for special days.

In recent years though, with two wee ones to look after, we rarely get chance to go out so my wardrobe is looking pretty sorry for itself. I generally just do the school run, maybe nip to the shops and a few times a year get a night out - yay me!

This Christmas though, the kids are a bit older and I am really looking forward to getting dressed up and going out a little more. I've already arranged a Christmas market date with a friend which will be cosy jumpers, coats and gloves, but I really want a big glam night out with Adam too. A chance to get dressed up again, bring out the sparkles and enjoy each others company.

Quiz are currently running a gifting campaign for bloggers, whereby they choose us an outfit to do this very thing. With  a huge range of party gear, sequin dresses and accessories, I was excited to take part and see what they would choose for me. This kind of thing is WAY out of my comfort zone but I thought I'd brave it as I'm trying to find a little more self confidence and LOVE getting presents.

When my outfit arrived, I was a little shocked as it's been so long since I wore anything dressy! With some beautiful shoes, a sparkly clutch bag and a beautiful green velvet dress, I couldn't wait to try it on - even if these heels may kill me, it'll be so worth it. Here's what I was sent;

The dress from the Curve range is gorgeous, I usually opt for sleeves on everything, but sometimes you just have to go outside your comfort zone and I'm pretty happy with how this looks. I'd style this with a biker jacket to give it a bit of an edge, as it can be dressed up or down and I love that. I would have much preferred it with sleeves and a little longer though if I'm honest, but it is a beautiful dress. I'm not sure it's entirely flattering but Adam seems to think it looks great and I do love the way it feels. I definitely couldn't wear this without tights though, but think it suits darker legs and boots.

The shoes are beaut, so much detail with generous sizing. I love the simplicity, but also the fact there is some extra branding detail on the sole and they just feel such good quality. The clutch bag is gorgeous too, with plenty of space for all the bits I'd need on a night out, but small enough to not distract from the outfit. Again, the bag is great quality with nice detailing, I love a bit of bling. As it's so freezing with snow due right now, I've opted for a warmer option and will pop the shoes away for another less toe freezing off kind of day.

I love this look and think it goes together pretty well. A longer dress would have been more flattering I think and maybe looked a bit more glam too, the fabric is beautiful though. What do you think?
