Mama Life || 6 Things to Do Once Lockdown Ends

Mama life - Collaborative Post

The global pandemic has been and continues to be a very testing time for everyone affected. Perhaps the worst issues have been the lack of visits from family and friends in addition to the closure of schools. Being trapped at home with little interaction is a huge challenge for children and adults alike. We’ve all found ourselves remembering with a pang the days when we could pop to the shops mask-free or visit loved-ones without fear of infection. One of the best things to do during a time like this is to make plans for the time when everything gets back to normal!

Here are 6 things to look forward to when lockdown is a thing of the past! When masks are a distant memory and we’re free to come and go as we please once more!

1: Visit your friends and family – This has to be top of the list. Whether it’s your Mum and Dad, your Great Aunt or just your oldest friend from school, most of us have been missing someone. If you’ve got small children, then it could be playdates with their classmates that are most sorely missed – or maybe you’re desperate to pop to your pal’s for a cup of tea. Whatever it is, start making those plans! Talk to your friends or family or to your children about what you will do first once it’s allowed. You can discuss the travel plans you’ll need to make to get there, about what you will eat and drink and even what you’ll wear. Talking like this will help make it seem more real – remember, this is a temporary situation.

2: Go out for tea – The luxury of a classic English tea in a classic English teashop is something that’s missed by many. The Enchanted Tea Rooms offer cream tea in Hertfordshire that has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime! From luscious cakes to delicious finger sandwiches and scones with clotted cream, these tea rooms offer them all and more. Look forward to a tasty and relaxing afternoon tea very soon!

3: A trip to the theatre – Who can resist a night at the theatre? Whether you’re a fan of old-fashioned musicals or comedies or want to see the latest hard-hitting political drama, a night at the theatre is a wonderful mix of entertainment and excitement. Team it with dinner out at your favourite restaurant and you’re on to a night out that’s hard to beat. We might not be able to enjoy the theatre just yet but while we wait, we can still make a list of our favourite shows ever and watch excerpts of them online. Plan your next ‘in the flesh’ theatre trip while you relive the best shows

4: Party the night away – Dancing with friends at a nightclub or a fun social gathering at someone’s home. These old-fashioned nights out are sorely missed at the moment and while we haven’t enjoyed them for a while, why not make plans for your next big night out? Plan your outfits and where you’ll go – and look back on past fun nights as you enjoy the thought of your next one!

5: A visit to the museum – Museums are a source of entertainment and of learning. Galleries too – children in particular are missing these hubs of past and present and while we wait for them to reopen, why not plan which museums you’re going to next? There are so many brilliant museums in London alone that you’d be hard-pressed to see them all in a year.

6: An old-fashioned seaside holiday – As a matter of fact it needn’t even be a holiday! A day out at the seaside is just what the doctor ordered after a stressful time. The pandemic has certainly been that! What could be better than a stress-free journey to your closest beach and a day of fish and chips, sand and sea coupled with ice cream and happy children?

We may not be able to enjoy these things at the moment but the day is coming when we will be able to. It’s going to be a very welcome day too! Make your plans now so that you’re ready when the time comes!
