Home Style || Give Your Garden A Facelift This Spring

Home Style - Collaborative Post

Over the course of the last few months we have all been sitting inside, staring at our garden and thinking about how much we miss those long summer evenings. When we were sitting outside in the fresh air as the sun slowly went down, enjoying peace and quiet in a little patch of green that’s all ours. As the days get longer and we see a little bit more light towards the end of the day, we’re counting each day until it’s light enough, and warm enough, that we can finish work for the day and head out to the garden to enjoy it again.

We may be a couple of months away from that yet, but in the meantime, why not think about a few easy ways to bring a little new life to that garden to make it extra special for the spring and summer to come!

Try A Water Feature

Now, no one is saying that you need to go from zero to a hundred and install a koi carp pond right off the bat (although why not, if you’ve got the money and the space?). However, there are plenty of small ways that you can introduce some beautiful and peaceful water features to your garden to get started. It can be as minor as adding a bird bath to provide those feathered visitors with a drinking spot, or you can add a fountain made from reclaimed materials such as plant pots, buckets and mixed metals. Whether you want a water wall or a little solar-powered spring, water is a wonderful way to add something new to your garden.

Let There Be Light!

Lighting is always on our minds at this time of year, and there is nothing worse than having the wrong light for your garden. If you’re constantly being blinded by an over-powered security light, or if you just feel like the ambiance created doesn’t fit the space at all, then it’s time to think about LED wall lights. Not only are they environmentally friendly and energy efficient (you’ll thank us when that next electricity bill comes in), but you can find options that are waterproof, dustproof and vandal-resistant, and their longevity means that you won’t have to worry about that awful flickering that comes with conventional bulbs. Check this website to browse a wide selection of indoor and outdoor LED wall
lights. Any-Lamp also offers a warranty up to five years.

Get Creative With Your Potting

It can be hard to feel inspiration for outdoor spaces in winter, but a little rearranging and a splash of colour can make all the difference. Add a bright window box so you can relocate those small plants and flowers somewhere little more visible. Silvery plants such as Powis Castle will add a sparkly sheen even when your garden isn’t covered in frost. And finally, why not get your paints out to transform those basic garden centre pots into something a little more exciting? Painting your plant pots is a great activity for the whole family, and can create a whole new colour scheme for your green space.
