Healthy Mama || Staying Fresh With Wild Refills

For some reason as we get older our bodies do weird things, and one of the many things my beloved body has decided to chuck out there this year for fun is an allergy to deodorant! Hooray!

I've used sprays for years, I've more recently wanted a switch anyway because the environmental impact is horrific, but before I even used up my supplies I started reacting really badly to something in deodorants to the point I was in so much pain I had to go deo free for a few months while my armpits healed. Thankfully it was winter so I didn't have to scare people away with my odour!

Now I've got to the point where I can't even be near someone spraying it as it bothers my eyes and I get sneezy, how weird is that!? So I decided to try a natural option and went for the blandest simplest option I could in the form of a crystal deodorant. This worked ok I think, but I firstly didn't like that I had to wet it before use as it felt weird and meant I could only put it on in the bathroom. Secondly it had no scent which is ok, but meant I could still smell myself a little which would only get worse in warmer months. The hunt continued...

Thankfully when I got to the point of table flipping with frustration, I was offered a chance to try Wild refills, a no nasties vegan friendly refillable deodorant option that comes in snazzy tins and means you no longer have to dispose of gross sprays or plastic bottles, but instead just by refills that come in recyclable packaging as and when you need it. This all sounded great, my only concern though was whether I would react to the deodorant itself or the scent, as I still don't know exactly what my body hates about regular deodorants.

I was sent the limited edition charity tin, made with 'coppafeel' charity, raising awareness of breast health at the same time as staying fresh and helping the environment. I was also sent the new chocolate fondue scent to try.

I'm absolutely delighted that not only does this deodorant work in all the ways it needs to - i.e keeping me smelling fresh, but I also had zero reactions to it, absolutely no itching all day and I enjoyed the chocolate scent even though I'd been a little hesitant of it.

I'm definitely a convert now, I also found out they do sensitive versions and lots of other scents and designs, so I think I'll try a full family switch now as the kids wear deodorant too and it's so hard to find something gentle that works for their ages.

Right now until the 30th April you can also get 20% off at WILD with my discount code WAFFLEMAMA and if you're wanting to make a small change to help the earth or try a deodorant that's gentle on your body, I'd highly recommend giving wild a try. I didn't have to post a review of this but I am genuinely so impressed and happy I have an option for keeping fresh with summer on its way!

Have you tried Wild Refills before?
