Even though I say it every month, this one has flown by more than ever! I don't know what happened to the first half of October, but I seem to have blinked and fast forwarded to half term, Alf'sbirthday and Halloween! A great month for us, but a busy one too. Alf turned eight this week which is unbelievable all by itself and we're busy prepping for Halloween, getting busy making plans with friends and quite literally throwing costumes together as we have so much in the dressing up box. We had an amazing last minute trip to Haven in Berwick lapping up the Autumn sun enjoying beaches and finished half term with a couple of much needed lazy home days before heading back to school and work.
I've made a good start on my new kids book which will be my second of the Arboretum series and although I've been quiet on my blog, I have been taking lots of photos and have a tonne of stuff to share when I finally catch up. Here's a little more about what I've been up to in October...
Wearing - I've actually embraced a fair bit of colour for me this month, I do love a colouful knit! I also grabbed a super warm monochrome wrap from the charity shop nearby which I've lived in, it's like a blanket I can legitimately take everywhere - dreamy. I glammed up in red for a friends wedding and enjoyed the beautiful Scottish (well nearly Sctotland) water which just made my hair shine and go sily smooth while we were there. I've wrapped up for our beach days and worn dresses a bit more to work and at the weekend as planned. I also got some beaut new boots which are a dark green chelsea style and super comfy!
Food & Drink - I've been crap with food again but have sorted my snacking a little in October as well as starting a few meal replacements with Slim & Save which I'll be blogging about soon. I just need a kick start to boost my mojo back into healthy eating and those kind of plans always work well for me when I need a push. My husband has got well into cooking again (yasss) so we've had lots of home made curries and baked goodies to enjoy - yum. I am already excited for the Christmas cheese board even though it's a good 8 weeks away...
Watched - The main thing we've loved in october was Top Boy, the new series has just come out and it's all about drug gangs in London and just so well written. I've also been watching Netflix, with shows like Dear White People, The Good Place and catching up on Riverdale which I think is very cringey but I'm still hooked for some reason. I love a bit of Eastenders and although frustratingly I know they'll be stringing out the current big storylines til Christmas, I still can't help but watch every episode, I love it.
Disliked - October has been all about the catty old women - seriously does it end? I've not been victim to any of it (that I know of) but hearing grown women in their 30s/40s/50s bitching about each other makes me feel a lot nauseous.
Loved - In october I've loved our holiday, October sunshine and celebrating my wonderful boy's birthday! I love it when we're all together so holidays are super special.
