Mama Life || Haldon Forest Family Zog Trail

Just recently we headed to Haldon Forest in South Devon for a forest walk and the famous Zog activity trail. Zog is one of our favourite books (by Julia Donaldson) and the kids were very excited to explore. We love the coutryside down there so were looking forward to some real views, unlike the ones here in Lincolnshire and lots of fresh air.

We parked up at Haldon Forest, paid for our parking and got a trail kit (£3) from the rangers office with a little zog mask, information leaflets and a special red viewing lens to see the images on the trail. This is similar to the Gruffalo trail we did last year, but instead of using an app to bring the characters to life, we'd instead see them on the posts on the trail using the special red plastic viewing lens. The walk is long enough to be fun but not too long for little legs, with sign posts all the way round to find characters and explore. There's also a cafe and full facilities on site, so it was the perfect (and cheap) family day out.

Here's some of our pictures from the trail...
