Molly Maybe & The Ghost Train >> Book Review

Molly Maybe & The Ghost Train

Another lovely book has made it's way to our ever growing book collection. The kids both love story time, so when we were invited to review the new Molly Maybe book, we were excited to say yes and get to reading.

Now, if I like me you hadn't heard of the Molly Maybe books before, then you can read all about them here. This book is the second MM book from author Kristina Stephenson, a paperback story aimed at age three upwards finding Molly and her beloved pet dog Waggy Burns on a monstrous ghostly adventure!

I absolutely love the look of this book, it's set to be a classic with lovable characters and a beautiful storyline essentially telling readers not to be scared of things/people you don't know. They discover after following a curious pong, three terrified little monsters, wanting to retrieve their kite but not wanting to go near the gruesome Ghoulie Gumpus. They travel to Undermunder on their Mundervator to help out - don't you just love these names?

Molly and Waggy Burns are quick to help out the monsters in Undermunder, only to find that the much feared Ghoulie Gumpus is actually terrified of them as well, a great little moral to this story and the perfect message for small children to learn from.

I love the way this book reads, the use of alliteration and imaginative character names really make me smile. The story is fun and exciting from start to finish with lovely little twists and turns. Some pages require a turn of the book or fold out pages which the kids enjoyed too.

I haven't read the first Molly Maybe book but it's definitely on our wish list now as both kids love this story and we can't wait to read more. If you want to read all about the Molly Maybe books you can visit the Facebook page or even buy on Amazon.
