KIDS Gifts || Christmas 2017

I love coming up with gift ideas to share here, but this year I thought I'd keep it simple with a stocking fillers guide as lets face it, we all love those little bits. A gift guide for the home, maybe even a slightly quirky one at that. Finally this one, a kids gift guide full of beautiful wooden toys and quirky finds as opposed to the usual plastics and battery toys.

If you know what the child you are buying for is into, it's a huge bonus. Whether it's your child or another family member or friend, it's always worth asking for ideas first to gear you in the right direction. If you're not so sure, then it's best to steer away from the regular plastic character toys, noisy toys and anything that takes up too much space. In most cases though, a beautiful hand made or wooden age appropriate toy can be so well received and last a lot longer.

Catering for a range of budgets ages and tastes, here's my selection for kids this year.

Babies & Toddlers

1. Fair Trade crochet octopus from Born Gifted | 2. Skip Hop Fill up fountain bee bath toy | 3. Bits & Pieces woodland animal stacking dolls | 4. Fair Trade Noah's ark from Born Gifted | 5. Wooden marble run from Trihorse | 6. Grimm's Rainbow | 7. Play picnic from Born Gifted | 8. Skip Hop fox back pack | 9. Rocking Fox from Cuckooland

When it comes to baby toddler gifts, you can't go wrong with a brilliant bath toy and the bee from Skip Hop has to be one of the best we've used! Classic wooden and animal theme toys that not only bring the fun, but also look adorable in any room are always a winner. Whilst encouraging lots of creative play and learning, these colourful, robust gifts would be loved by little ones for years to come.

Bigger Kids

1. Mitre Star Wars Scriball* | 2. Mayka tape from Zuru* | 3. Scandi play kitchen from Cuckooland | 4. Schleich grizzly bear | 5. Innoo Tech magnetic building shapes | 6. EZ Fort set | 7. Illuminated solar system from Find Me  A Gift*

Creative play, learning in a fun way and building your own fort, what could be better? I love this remote control solar system and brilliant Mayka tape which I think will be in every kids stocking this year! The Mitre footballs that you can colour in yourself are the perfect gift to bring some Boxing Day colouring and football fun.

All kids will love

1. Tangle from Zuru* | 2. Light up roller skate shoes | 3. Hallmark Itty Bittys | 4. Farm in a tin from Apples & Pears | 5. RicoRich speaker disco light | 6. WH Smiths charity Xmas jumper day bear | 7. Magnetic chalk board with shapes | 8. Haribo selection box* | 9. Katinka's Tail by Judith Kerr

If your kids love a home disco, then this little speaker with built in disco lights will be a great little gift. Flashing trainers that are actually roller skates too? Sold. Another classic from Judith Kerr which I'm sure most kids will adore and of course a fabulous Haribo selection to enjoy on the big day. For some creative play, the farm in a tin and magnetic chalk board will give hours of fun, whilst the Tangle toy will be loved by the whole family. The WHS Christmas jumper bears are not just cute, with £1 from every sale going straight to the 'Save The Children' charity too.

To Make It Extra Special

1. Santa Sacks from Santasacks.com* | 2. The Christmas Snowflake family book from Wonderbly

With another fab offering from the folks at Wonderbly, the Christmas Snowflake book is a personalised Christmas delight featuring up to 9 members of the family for kids to enjoy. For a super special Christmas 'delivery' from Santa this year, I love these personalised Christmas sacks too!

I hope that little lot has given some inspiration slightly different from the norm for your little ones this Christmas!
