Mama Life || Therapy With Photography

I've come to realise just how much taking up photography for my blog has done for me. It's not just taking pictures for posts or snapping precious memories of our family, it goes a lot further for me and I'm so happy to have fallen in love with it.

Since starting my blog I've really found myself looking for beautiful things, focusing on positives and since having children, rediscovering all those little things that you forget about when you get older. Taking photos has made me focus on the beautiful even more and not just in the normal ways. I love photographing nature, I love getting the perfect close up of a bug or flower, I even love capturing those same plants through the seasons. It's only when you really stop and look that you notice all these pretty little details in the world that I wouldn't have noticed without my camera and kids entering my life.

I've always loved taking photos especially portraits and I've managed to get some really lovely family photos to treasure forever. It's so satisfying when you have the perfect light or capture the perfect moment. I find it so relaxing taking my camera out and it really helps me unwind and shift my focus, it gives me extra time in the fresh air, gets me walking more and gives me even more excuses to get the kids or the dog outdoors. I've enjoyed my solo photo walks too, there's just something about it that makes me feel so calm and happy.

Photography for me truly has been like some kind of therapy, it distracts me from my thoughts, takes me into this little world where I only focus on good things and helps me make memories. I still need some training to learn my way around the camera properly, but so far I'm really enjoying it all.

Do you love taking photos too?
