Star Wars Force Attax Extra // Our Collection & Topps Bundle Giveaway

Collecting, battling, 'shineys' & Swaps...

As keen Star Wars fans and ambassadors for Topps, we were really excited to help Alf grow his Star Wars Force Attax Extra collection and learn to play the game along with him. For starters, here's a little overview of how to play the game, it's very similar to other card games but comparing only two sets of numbers, defence and attack.

How to play

  • Each player picks ten cards and lays them face down after studying their strengths.
  • Player one chooses a card and decides if they will attack or defend with it.
  • The chosen cards are flipped over and scores compared. If the defence score is higher than the attack or vice versa, that player wins.
  • The 'loser' puts their card in their 'lost' pile.
  • The winner chooses first (their card and whether to defend or attack with it).
  • The loser chooses their best defence or attack card to compete.
  • If it's a draw, both players place their cards in the 'lost' pile.
  • The player with the most cards wins!

Our Collection So Far

Our collection is coming along really well so far, though there are some still for us to find and a few gaps in our folder. We are building a good stash of swaps too. Our favourites are the Stand Up cards which we now have a complete set of. Alf has a couple of friends locally that collect and play with them too, so he has been able to get swapping to get closer to a full collection all round.

We have been slowly helping him build his set over the past weeks, giving Alf a packet when he has been on his very best behaviour - he has done super well so far and we are equally as excited when we stumble across a new card, especially a nice shiny or rare one!

We have made a good start on our collection and Alf's collector folder is plumping up nicely. He has decided to collect a second set, which he will play with so that the others stay in good condition, away from the hands of his cheeky little sister who has already eaten one Chewbacca...

This is a great game for kids as it combines numeracy skills with problem solving, as well as being fun and fueling the love of the world of Star Wars. This game has really helped Alf with his number reading, he isn't even five yet and figured this out super quick, he even beats me at the game most the time!

You can read all about the Force Attax cards on the Topps website and start your own collection by picking some cards at some of your local supermarket or newsagents. Let the fun begin!
