Easter At Homesense

I love Easter for so many reasons and it's easily a close second to Christmas for me. I love that it brings our family together for a celebration, especially the kids for a big garden Easter egg hunt with their cousins. I love that it's arrival signals Spring is in full swing and of course I love the excuse to indulge in some chocolate, who doesn't?

I've got such lovely memories of my childhood marching in the Easter bonnet parade in my exquisite floral, chick laden straw hat, lovingly created by my Mum; I hope that tradition is still going in schools, it was cheesy but lots of fun and just seeing the Easter bits and pieces in the shops (especially those tiny fluffy chicks) makes me feel all nostalgic and happy.

I always used to get around ten eggs that would last me several months and I absolutely loved getting little gifts too like plush toys or decorations for my room.

When it comes to the gifts, everyone seems to end up with so much chocolate (really not complaining about that one), but I like to find something that will last just a little bit longer for the kids to go with their eggs and treat the grown ups to something a bit different to the standard branded eggs you find in all the shops too.

As part of my ongoing work with HomeSense, I was recently invited to my local store (I pretty much live there anyway) to check out the latest selection on offer for Easter this year. As always, they more than have us all covered for the gifts, eggs, crockery and decor. Good job HomeSense!

The store was awash with eggs, chicks, bunnies and lots of kitsch and pastel themed items, it instantly gets you in the mood for Spring.

From stunning designer chocolate eggs laced with sweets and treats, to pretty Easter themed decorations for the home, there is literally everything you could possibly need to celebrate in style this Easter, as well as a whole host of unique gifts that would make a great alternative (or addition) to the usual chocolate eggs.

I love the idea of decorating the house, we've never really done more than a simple 'Happy Easter' banner so I really want to make it more exciting this year! If you like to make a feature of the dining table, there is a great selection of beautiful crockery to help you out too, as well as pretty cake stands and of course some wine glasses (well we have to wash that chocolate down some how...).

I can't wait to meet up with the family this Easter, tuck into our roast lamb dinner and give out some of our lovely HomeSense goodies too. I hope whatever you get up to at Easter, that it is relaxing, happy, sweet - and of course gloriously decorated too!
