April's been a mix of threatening to snow to full on Summer, with lots of rain in between. Crazy weather days and lots of being stuck in with chicken pox babies, meant that getting creative with my clothes has fallen to the bottom of the pile. Most days, it was dressing for warmth or just to escape the shackles of the house for five minutes.
We did have a few days out though and I made sure to make the most of being able to make myself feel better by looking a little more spruce moose and slapping on the makeup and new clothes. We went down to Devon where I was able to do a little shopping to get my fix and I've gone a lighter shade of blonde for the sunshine too.
A super simple buy, but I love the stripy monotone top from HM with the yellow neck detail. I also love my Adidas originals top so much, even if I do look like a vicar sometimes, I just wish I had it in more colours. The suede look biker jacket is probably my favourite ever jacket and I have worn it every day we've not had rain recently. It's comfy, goes with everything and makes me feel like I have a tiny splash of style, even if the rest of my outfit is a little dull.
With holidays and poorly babies, my blog has taken a bit of a beating this month, but I did manage to get one other fashion related post up, which was all about dressing for long journeys. You can click here to read more about layering up, keeping warm, comfortable and stylish on your travels.
I'm not a big fan of summery clothing, but I have picked up a few new bits to challenge myself a little, so hopefully if May brings more sunny weather I'll be able to break out a bit of colour and get outdoors a lot more!
What were your April staples?
