OG On The Bog: Game Review & Giveaway

We recently reviewed a great game From Drumond Park and I couldn't wait to get stuck into the next one we had been sent to review which is 'Og On The Bog'. I don't know if you have seen the adverts for this one, but they are kind of every boys dream - a big green ogre, on a toilet, making fart noises. Needless to say my four year old son A was SUPER excited for this one too and this was most definitely his choice! It is however, a perfect family game.

What's in the box?

  • Og on his bog complete with hut
  • 12 plastic toilet rolls
  • Spinner
  • Instructions

I loved that there wasn't too many parts to this game and the toilet rolls would be easy to store to prevent losing any, there is nothing worse than losing vital pieces. This game looked fun from the off and there were laughs all round (OK, even me) on hearing the grumpy ogre and his musical bottom. Just look at his little face, how can you not laugh?

How to play

The object of the game is to steal toilet rolls without Og hearing you and blowing up his house with his explosive rear end! The youngest player starts, then each player carefully removes a toilet roll from the lever attached to his house. Before your turn you have to spin the wheel which tells you if you have a go to remove a roll, take a roll from another player or a stinky red cross which means Og has heard you and you miss your turn. When it's your turn you have to press his 'step' which will decide if he is to hear you or not - I love this!

I loved the simplicity of this game in terms of setting it up. Once the batteries are in, you are pretty much good to go! There is a real sense of anticipation, not knowing when he will blow up his bog and to be honest it really made me jump the first time and maybe even a little every time if truth be told.

This was so funny, great for all ages from about 4 - 104 years old and had us giggling and squealing at times too. This was super simple for A to understand (despite it being aimed at 5 upwards) but also really good for getting him to wait his turn, listen to instructions and it thankfully lasts the perfect amount of time to retain their full attention - not a strong point at that age.

I was genuinely surprised how good this game was, how much fun we all had and how well it worked. A huge thumbs up from us all. This game RRPs at £22.99 and you can find full stockist details by clicking right here. If you'd like to try and win one for yourself instead, Drumond Park have kindly offered one for a reader to win too - simply enter via the Gleam App below.
