Sunday Exploring >> Photos From Fiskerton Fen

Today we headed over to a pretty rainy looking Fiskerton Fen, a nature reserve in Lincolnshire for a family walk with Peg. We were originally forest bound, but passed FF and noticed an empty car park and wanted to explore somewhere new and relatively people free. This was perfect.

We've never been before and although the paths are a little overgrown, it's a lovely place for a walk with lots of birds to spot, bugs to find and plants to look at. We love taking the kids out to big open spaces like this and being able to look at some livestock, watch some boats and explore. This was the perfect place to take Peg for a quiet bank holiday walk, burn off some energy (kids not us, we have none) and enjoy the fresh air all together.

It was a bit drizzly but made no difference really and I managed to take some pictures whilst we were there before the rain got too heavy for my camera to survive in. Here's my favourites from today.

We've had a pretty quiet but lovely bank holiday weekend and look forward to going back to Fiskerton Fen again soon to see what else we can find. What did you get up to this weekend?
