Home Style || 7 New House Must Buys

Buying your first home can be a minefield of information, with a shopping list as long as your arm. Here's a few basic must buys for most new home owners as recommended by JSG Solutions.

7 things you should look at buying when you move into a new house

Moving into a new house is undeniably stressful, which is why most people often forget to buy these 6 important things. It’s understandable, the last thing on your mind is worrying about getting a lawnmower or buying blinds. But the fact is, you need these things. And it’s better to purchase them now, rather than when you need them and realise you never bought them.

Lawnmower

So maybe your first task won’t be to mow the lawn when you move house. However, grass honestly does grow surprisingly fast.

Besides, as much as we don’t want to admit it, when friends and family visit, we want the house to look at its best. Especially, when it’s a new house and you’re throwing a moving in party. Unfortunately, this means cutting the grass, as tedious as it is.

Garden tools

You’re going to want to invest in a good set of garden tools if you don’t own one already. The reason for this being, even if you’re moving in the winter there’s going to come a time when you finally have the chance to sort out your new garden.

Whether you love gardening or hate it, it’s something that needs doing regardless. So, buy a decent set of gardening tools and your task will be much easier, maybe even enjoyable.

General tools

The same goes for your general tools. Moving home is a great chance to finally buy a new toolbox with tools included. Of course, moving is already expensive enough but buying good tool set means you won't have to bring along all your old, rusty tools.

Decorating equipment

When you move into your new home, of course, you'll want to make it your own. To save money in the future, we would suggest getting decorating equipment ready for when you decide to redecorate.

Blinds and/or curtains

This is something that many people forget, mainly because it’s one of the things you’d expect to already be in a house. Hence why you should measure the windows of your new house, before moving in. This enables you to buy curtains or blinds ready for your move.

Cutlery

As silly as it sounds, you should really buy a cutlery set for when people come around. It’s not uncommon for people to only own one or two sets of cutlery, if they’re only living alone or with a partner. The same goes for plates, bowls and cups!

Electricity Meters

We all know it’s an issue when you move in, you’re not sure your utilities meter is working properly at the new place, so why not alleviate that stress & get a new one for yourself? JSG Solutions is the place to go for an accurate kWh meter. When you move into your new home we advise you to make sure the original meter is working properly because this could turn into a much bigger issue if you find it’s not. kWh meters from JSG are accurate in their readings for billing and offer power saving and efficiency.

How was the move? We hope your move goes as smoothly as possible and you enjoy living in your new home. Let us know how your move went, it would be fun to hear about your experiences.
