Makes || Working On My Art & Children's Books

I don't know why but after years of feeling I wasn't good enough, or that my art work was rubbish, and comparing myself to others, I finally feel that I can put myself out there. I'm not the best artist in the world, but I have my own style and imagination, meaning my work is different to other peoples. I realise now it doesn't have to be better, I just need to do what I want to do and share the creativity with a little more confidence.

As I've said before, I'm working on illustrating some children's books inspired by things the kids have said. I've recently written another book which I love, it's all about one of our cats and I think it's just a lovely story and the pictures are fun (if I do say so myself!).

I've been looking into self publishing with Amazon and although I may never sell a single copy and will never be rich from it, the satisfaction of seeing our story in print, with my drawings will be immense. I've now just got to decide which book to go with first as they are both nearly finished. The kids love them and can't wait to see them in book form as at the moment we just read from the notes on my phone and look at my drawings on paper.

I am so excited about having a book printed and finally being able to read our story to my own babies! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I've been sharing more illustrations generally lately on there. It's nice to feel a little more confident and finally just be drawing as I'd like to. You may have even seen some sneaky clues to the books on there too!

I'm hoping by the next arty update I'll have a shiny (probably affiliate LOL) link to our book to show off, I just need to work out the technical bit of putting it all together now. I'm also building up a collection of images to sell as prints on Etsy very soon, it's all exciting and something I've always wanted to do.
