Home Style || SS18 Home Trends

Last week I shared some of the fashion trends for Spring Summer 2018 including pastels, bold colours and even bolder prints. When it comes to home style, there are a few cross overs for SS18 with the trends on the runway and in the home. The home trends this year are pretty much perfect for me, with my favourite colours and styles. I'm so excited!

When things you like are in fashion, it means they are easily accessible and this is what excites me. I like what I like, but being able to buy things easily and cheaply when they are 'in' can never be a bad thing.

This Spring & Summer there is a great selection of themes heading for our stores with many of them already rocking the shelves and our homes. Here's some of my favourites;

Ombre & blues

In case you missed it, I wrote recently about ombre styling in the home and how much I love it. Blue is also my favourite colour, I love all things seaside, so these trends combined are perfect! I've just invested in the curtains which are super cheap in Argos right now and need to decide on some cushions to tie things in. This is a great trend for summer, with beach vibes and it's so easy to compliment with another bold colour or metallic details.

Bold colours, tropical & ice creams

I also shared this week about embracing a little colour in the home. There's no fun in a home with no personality, so this bright bold trend of colours, pattern and best of all - tropical patterns will make a huge statement in your home. Whether it's a feature wall, a piece of furniture or just some soft furnishings, you can't beat the happiness a hearty colour can bring to a room. Soft ice cream colours are also huge this year, so whatever your colour style, you can go as bold, bright or gelato as you like.

Embellishments & Foliage

Embellishments are all about those little extras, those little tassells (not on clothes...), lots of texture and colours to complement your room. I love cacti and the faux ones look so good now, it's not worth risking the real thing if you're as hopeless as me with plants! Pots, plants and bringing the outside in is going to be huge trend this year and there's so many options whether you decode you want an easy to keep version or the real thing.

Geometrics & gold

I don't think I'll ever get bored of geometrics and terrariums. I think the metallic love goes back and forth, but I'm all for a little to compliment the bolder colours or pop with the ombre. I think some of the metallic geometrics are starting to look a little tired, but I still love them. Geo prints and fabrics though are just my favourite and will stay there for the foreseeable.
