Mother's day can be a lovely day for many, celebrating those great women that raised us, supported us growing up in a motherly role or those that bring up our own children. It's always good to a have a day focused on those special to us, to let them know they are adored and appreciated.
To all the Mums out there that read my blog, I just wanted to wish you all a happy Mother's day. Whatever you are up to, wherever your adventures take you today and whoever you're spending it with, just know that you are amazing, you are loved and you truly deserve the best day ever.
Sometimes us Mums can be our own worst enemies. We're the first to critisise ourselves, laden ourselves with excess Mum guilt, doubt ourselves, body shame ourselves, feel we aren't good enough etc etc etc. All this needs to stop and if just for one day, take a good look in the mirror and remind yourself that you are a great Mum. I often think the more critical a mother is of herself, the better mother she may be. Wouldn't it be great if we could all see in ourselves what our babies see in us?
Take five minutes to yourself at the very least today, spoil yourself, put some time into being you and do something that makes you smile. Hug those babies tight and pat yourself on the back for doing your best throughout the highs and lows of motherhood.
To all the awesome Mothers, happy Mother's day!
