What's Your Day Job? - Meet Sian!

This week I will be introducing you to the lovely Sian, with an insight into the other side of blogging. Sian works in PR and comes from North Yorkshire. Here is a little bit about Sian and her day job.

Name: Sian

Age: 24

A few facts about you: I live in North Yorkshire, studied Latin and Ancient Greek at uni, and now spend my days (when I'm not at work) creating outfit posts for the blog, reading and sewing up dresses (and more recently, my own underwear!).

What's your job? I work in Blogger Outreach, getting in touch with all of you on a daily basis as a PR. It's funny seeing it from both sides, after all, I was a blogger before I was a PR. I've recently written a series on Blogging & PR and how it works for me in both jobs, to let you in on some the secrets that go on in our world.

How long have you been doing it? I've been working in blogger outreach for 2 and a half years now. Prior to that I was teaching Classics - big difference there!

What do you like best about it? I love being able to chat to bloggers on a daily basis and to help provide them with things they're looking for for their blogs. I'm also involved in the creative parts behind our campaigns, so get to come up with fun ideas that bloggers will love.

What is the worst thing about it? The one problem with the internet (as I'm sure most bloggers know) is that it's much easier to be rude to someone when they're behind a screen, and I've in the past been on the receiving end of that. It only takes a few seconds to say please and thank you!

Would you recommend it? Yes, definitely. I never thought I would like (let alone love) doing a "grown up" job, but I'm fortunate to have found something I really enjoy doing.

Any funny stories? Our office in general is just a strange and funny place to be! We'll soon be featuring some "Overheard at Bronco" stories on our Facebook page as you'll often hear the most random things being said, but as a sneak preview, here's a little snippet of something Overheard at Bronco that sounds so strange completely out of context: "And I got a message in my contact form asking me to stand on a teddy bear in muddy shoes!"

What's your dream job? This! Although ideally, I'd prefer to be doing it in a warmer clime and preferably sat by the sea in a bikini...but don't we all!

Would you carry on if you won the lottery? I would, yes!

Thank you Sian! Your job sounds like so much fun. If you'd like to know more about Sian you can follow her blog at Rebel Angel and Big Cup Little Cup that she writes with a friend.
