Kids bedroom and playroom decor is something we are utterly engrossed in at the moment. With both kids rooms and their joint playroom needing a lot of sprucing and TLC, we've been looking at ways to declutter, provide decent storage and also decorate the wall space in fun and attractive ways.

Although our makeover plans have been halted while we sort out our never ending kitchen saga, we have started collecting some bits and pieces to build an epic play room that will have a more organised way of storing toys, with a wall full of fun bright posters and prints to help the kids learn and make them smile. One of the first things we've picked up is this awesome World illustrated sticker map kit we were gifted from Maps International.

As well as an large sized (84.1 X 59.4 cm) high quality laminated map, you also get three sticker sheets packed with animals and landmarks to peel and stick in the appropriate dotted area on the map. Some of these are easy for kids, some may need a little more conversation and research - or - at least looking for the right shape and size space to pop the sticker, making this a great addition to any kids space for all ages.

At Primary school, the kids learn about different places like Australia for example, they learn what animals are unique to the country as well as what foods they eat, what language they speak and what special landmarks and buildings reside there. This makes these maps the ideal additional learning tool for younger kids, whilst also brightening up a room and looking awesome once completed and framed!

We are really enjoying the process of filling in the map, getting all the stickers in the right place and learning all about different countries, where animals live and thinking about why they may live there, if they live near or amongst humans, what land marks mean, how old they are and where we'd love to visit one day.

Even for me, this map has been a great learning tool. I'm happy to admit that geography has never been my strong point, I have the worst sense of direction locally so piecing the world together kind of scrambles my brain! Being able to break it down like this with animals and famous landmarks makes it all seem a lot easier to take in and piece together. I must say I'm really enjoying this map and the conversations it's bringing with the kids and can't wait to have it finished framed and finally hanging in a finished play room! Just look at how cool it is in it's entirety...

With nothing quite going to plan house wise this last few months (kitchen nightmare, surprise damp patches, etc etc etc!) we aren't quite ready to hang our map properly, but here's an image from Maps International to show how striking this looks once it's completed and framed - I absolutely adore it! I've always had a thing for framed maps as decor for any room, and I think this one and the other maps from this brand are just that extra bit special, as well as being very high quality, fun and making learning about the world that bit easier for all ages.
