Joe Delucci's Gelato: Review

I'm a firm believer in treating yourself to what you fancy - and if you are a foodie like me, sweet delicious desserts are one of the biggest treats of all!

When it comes to ice cream, if you're talking about the usual vanilla, cornish, ice cream van ice creams, then I can happily live without. I do love ice cream that is a little more luxury though and if it has a tasty sauce or an unusual flavour, then I'm all the more for it.

This week we were sent two tubs of Italian ice cream from Joe Delucci's. I'd not seen or heard of the brand before, but it was love at first sight! I think the pictures say it all.  Just look at these beautiful little tubs. You can tell from the offset that it's going to be good. Ice cream in the post? Best. Day. Ever.

We were sent two unusual flavours - Creme Caramel and Coconut. I couldn't really have picked better flavours if I tried, I loved creme caramel as a kid and if it's food, oil, hair and beauty related, anything; if it's coconut flavoured then it's got my name written all over it.

There are a huge range of flavours  available from Joe Delucci's, but the ones I am most excited about other than those sampled are;

Tiramisu (oh oh oh, yes please)
Toffee
Cherry & Custard
Passion Fruit
Rum & Raisin
Mandarin Sorbet
Dark Chocolate

And even... Parmesan!

Really, I want to try them all but thought I had better limit myself, though I am very excited to have discovered a special new tasty treat, especially as some flavours of these are lower in fat than most ice creams too. Yesssss!

It's hard to describe how amazing these ice creams were. The Creme Caramel was just insanely good. It was thick, creamy and luxurious.  Perfect in every single way and everything I wanted it to be when I saw the tub.

The coconut is a total dream too. Again it's thick and creamy, with a beautiful yet slightly grainy texture from the coconut and wow a total treat for the taste buds, like nothing we have had before.

My only complaint (as I always try and put a fair review across), is that the tubs are quite small. I would however have eaten the whole tub regardless of whether it was this size, or the size of a bath tub, so it's maybe not such a bad thing. This is the best frozen dessert of this kind I have ever ever had! I can't wait to eat it again and try more of the flavours. You can read all about Joe Delucci’s on their website.

Big big thumbs up from me and my husband, who I reluctantly shared this with.

Disclosure: We were sent samples in exchange for an honest review.
