Mama Style || The Fjällräven Kånken Backpack

From day one of motherhood, our bags are instantly ladened with a whole heap of extras. From nappies, to clothes changes and even the kitchen sink, we're soon saddled with daily luggage that even the bravest of donkeys would shy away from.

As the kids grow and the pram becomes redundant, we suddenly find we actually have to carry everything instead of piling it into the shopping basket and it can be hard work, especially with a bad back. I've dabbled more recently with backpacks to carry our things and they are perfect, leaving you hands free to chase after toddlers, hold hands and walk with an equal load putting less strain on your body. A cool back pack makes things even better!

This month I was sent a new backpack to try out and after lusting after these for ages, the Fjällräven Kånken in one of my favourite colours is finally all mine. You've probably seen these beautiful bags around already, with an instantly recognisable retro look in an array of lovely colours. For me, this is the perfect bag for us Mums, ideal for the every day with an equal balance of style and practicality.

The Fjällräven Kånken bag was first introduced for Swedish school kids in the late 70's, but has more recently achieved a bit of a cult style status with lots of celebs and style bloggers sporting them as a practical stylish daily bag, but also with outdoors enthusiasts due to its superb quality and versatile design. The Kånken is so practical, made from ultra-durable Vinylon F, it's waterproof, super spacious, comfortable to wear and can be worn as a backpack or neatly strapped up to carry as a handbag. As a blogging mum, I can even safely store my laptop inside with plenty more room for all the other bits we need.

This is a great all rounder and pretty much solves all my problems, making carrying extra bits comfy for my back, protecting my camera and giving me ample storage for all the things we need day to day. Aside from all those great things, I just love the look of it and the colour is gorgeous!

The Kånken has an RRP of £75, though often on offer it's admittedly a higher price for a backpack, but it's so much more than that and in my book and worth every penny, I love it! The quality is amazing, the stitching is super tough and I have no doubt this will be used for many years to come. Add one to your Christmas list right now!! You can even buy extra padded straps for even more comfort, though I haven't needed them as yet they do look pretty cool. This bag seems to fit perfectly with the curve of my back and doesn't weight me down like other bags I've tried, I truly love it.

Are you a fan of the Fjällräven Kånken?

* I was sent the Kanken bag in exchange for an honest review.
