Bye Bye Baby Wearing Days...

Me & My Slingy Babies

Today I packed up and posted my very last baby carrier for a shiny new Mum to enjoy, packed with memories and sleepy dust - I miss it already. That picture up there ^ it makes me just want to do it all over again!

I've loved baby wearing, it's been one of my most favourite things about having babies and feeling that closeness and bond of pregnancy for months and years after, totally bridges the gap and brings so much happiness to parent and baby, not to mention being a total life saver when getting things done or going shopping!

I'm not sure yet if we will have any more babies in the future, but for now it's a tearful goodbye to the baby wearing days, that will be sorely missed. Soph hasn't let me carry her (or put her) in anything remotely confined for the past few months, so it was time to send my gorgeous Rose & Rebellion sling on to a new home. I had already waved goodbye to my stretchy wraps which was fully brutal to do, they helped me keep my babies warm, safe and happy. They made me so happy too.

I have amazing memories of our trips out, the first feed in the slings, the aahhs and oohs from onlookers at the cuteness of it all and those sleepy transfers from sling to cot - not easy to do and rarely successful. I'll miss looking down at those rosy cheeks and big blue eyes. I'll miss that feeling of being able to totally protect them from everything and most of all I'll miss the cuddles and kissing those soft fluffy heads.

If you are a baby wearer, you will no doubt understand how hard this has been for me, it's hard giving up a hobby of any kind, but in this case unless I start carrying the dog or cats around like a crazy lady, that's it for me...

Bye bye baby wearing days - it's been amazing, happy, special and beautiful in every way.
