'Back To School' Craft >> Quick & Pretty Pre-School Bag #BostikBloggers

School time crafts!

With Alf starting school in just a couple of weeks (sob) I've begun to think about Soph and her start at pre-school which will happen very shortly after (cue more sobs). I can't even imagine those few hours a week all by myself! What will I do?

This month I am joining Bostik with their monthly crafts as a Bostik Blogger. Each month I will be sent a box of crafty goodies along with a theme which I then put together into a themed craft to blog about here.

With Soph seeing Alf get his new bag, new shoes, new uniform etc etc etc I thought I would make her something special, something she can take a little toy in from home or something special to hang on her peg to make her feel closer to home when she needs it.

Soph is proper little lady, so I decided after looking at the box contents to opt for the little tote bag and decorate it specially for her to take on her first day. I can get this ready with her new little shoes and an outfit for her first day so she feels just as excited as Alf on his big school adventure.

The box came with a number of items so we had lots of choice and narrowed it down to those above. Alf has helped me design and stick the bag and after seeing the pretty fabrics along with my blog header, we decided bunting would look sweet, with her name and a few little extras. We will pop a few little things inside as well to keep her amused while she waits to go in or waits for me to pick her up.

For this bag we used:

Small tote bag
Mixture of fabric
Bostik glue

I made a little stencil to cut my bunting out to make sure they were the same size and stuck them onto the bag with the Bostik fine and wide glue which is now officially my favourite ever glue for crafts! This glue is intended more for paper based materials but sticks fabric perfectly so it was ideal for this quick little project.

A stripe of glue and cross stitch thread to finish off the look of the bunting and I think it looks super cute! Luckily the letter stickers we had came with the right letters for her name so I popped these on the flags.

We finished off the bag itself with a few little bits and pieces such as hearts and dots, with some twirly whirly threads to fill some spaces.

I quite like this little bag, it was super simple, can be made in minutes and well, she loves it!

We really enjoyed our first craft challenge from Bostik and I can't wait for next months box to arrive!
